Your baby is growing FAST. You need to get a new car seat. There are a GAZILLION models to choose from. What to do?! The Britax Marathon Convertable Car Seat is our number one choice. It's our top pick for a few very important reasons:
- It will keep your baby safe. - With a special foam to cushion the head in an accident, a five point harness, as well as being latch equipped.
- It is easy to use - It's the little things like velcro to hold the straps back while you're putting your baby into the seat - no more digging for straps from underneath baby!
- No need to replace it right away - The Marathon holds up to 65 pounds in the forward facing position, along with the high quality construction, it will last a LONG time.
- Easy to install - The latch system is super easy. Just press the latch end into the anchor and pull tight. Even on older cars without latch anchors, it is intuitive and simple.
Britax Marathon Review Notes
The weight and height limits on a car seat are a big consideration. The Marathon will hold up to a 33 pound baby in the rear facing position and up to 65 pounds in the forward facing position. This is a HUGE consideration. Because of this versatility, this is probably the last car seat you'll need to buy. Britax has a few other very high quality models. The Britax Roundabout Convertible Car Seat is a high quality seat, with many of the same features as the Marathon. However, it is just too small. Our test baby is 8 months old, weighs 25 pounds, and is 30 inches long (a big boy!). He barely fit in the Roundabout, even though is says it is safe to 33 pounds rear facing. Our baby was totally cramped in the small seat. We used it for a few days and then exchanged it for a Britax Marathon.
